Ex-mechanic - Light vehicle and truck. Icarsoft works well. It pointed me in the right direction straight away with great live data for the air suspension system. I found that my LR3 would throw codes and disable special programs when the scanner was connected with the engine running. That could be my car though. I don’t think I could own a Landrover without having this tool.

Had a series of fault messages and reversion to limp home mode in 2009 Disco 3 while towing 2 tonne boat and trailer. Pulled to side of road and shut down and restarted and proceeded uneventfully. Using this device I could quickly diagnose probable cause was some dodgy fuel picked up at a truck stop 10 minutes prior (codeP2290) = 'injector control pressure too low'. Happened one further time on that batch of fuel, no further issues after burning through the tank and a couple of refills. Will discuss with my mechanic at the next service but don't feel the need to take the car in early at this stage. This device will now live permanently in the vehicle.
