I bought this for my 2013 76 series cruiser as I live on the road full time towing my caravan. The product was delivered within a week, despite the Covid situation. The ScanGage-II was very easy to install and it got going without any problems. The clear and well written instruction manual needs an extra mentioning, it is unusual these days. I needed the ScanGuage especially for monitoring my transmission fluid temp and the programming was easy. I wish my vehicle (a Pajero 3.2 ltr mod 2016) had an EGT sensor, but unfortunately it doesn’t seems to be the case. I also wish the ScanGauge-II had the option of an audible warning signal that could be set for certain critical levels.

I did have a cheaper clone of the ScanGauge, it worked well, but my reason to change was two fold. The old one was "sweating" - the case as sticky from the heat and secondly but most importantly, as per your literature, I would be able to view my automatic gearbox temperature. I installed the ScanGauge and all worked well (much better than the old device). However when I tried to find the parameters for the HiLux auto gearbox, I could not find any for my year HiLux. I contacted your support line (very prompt and good service), but found that the ScanGauge does not support the Toyota HiLux 2009 Auto gearbox. I felt that it is incorrect to state the product would be able to read the temperature value. I checked your promotional material and you do not state that it only works on some models. I am currently working on other values (parameters) to try and add this feature to the gauge. So, in essence poor value for money - mis-leading advertising. Do I want a refund NO WAY, I think the product is very good except for one feature that I wanted. And, I always try and support items that are either Australian or have Australian support.

Sorry to hear that. As you most likely know based on your experience driving and monitoring your vehicle even without the ScanGauge some readings are available and some not. FYI the ScanGauge Australia tried to get the x-gauge for the transmission temp up and running on 4 speed auto Hiluxes many times but it would just not read for some reason. The info re compatibility can be found here https://www.scangauge.com.au/toyota-x-gauges/ as well as if you would check with us before or after the purchase.
My Amarok 2013 does not have instrument gauges and only relies on the computer to show and issue by lights etc. I found this to be most unreliable resulting in a wrapped cylinder head. I am now using the ScanGauge which give me an overall indication of how the motor etc is running. I feel more security now using the ScanGauge II

I am very happy with the Scangauge2 GAUGES page where I monitor the Intake air temperature(after the turbo and intercooler), Radiator water temperature, Auto transmission temperature and Kph which really gives you important information on the condition of the motor particularly when towing a 2.5 ton van with my Mitsubishi Diesel Pajero VRX DiD. The X-Gauge facility is great to enable you to add additional gauges. The Trip function is also very usefull (once you have set it up after running two tanks of fuel through the car). It lets you see such data as Fuel used , Fuel left in tank, Distance remaining until tank is empty, Time remaining until tank is empty, Trip distance, Trip elapsed time, Trip average speed, Trip cost and many more. It stores the data under CURRENT Trip which it then transfers it to TODAY'S Trip when the engine has been stopped for 3 minutes and then it transfers it to PREVIOUS DAY when the engine has been stopped for 8 hours. When monitoring your KPH you can add in a correction factor for thing like the effect of larger tyre sizes, inaccurate speed of the cars speedo etc so that the Kph is totally accurate. This is set up by using a GPS to find the true speed you are doing. It is also very adaptable to allow you to set up 'F or 'C, Gallons or Liters, Kl or Miles in all reports. The gauge allows a two step brightness and infinite colour changes to suit your taste.

Speedy delivery (actually arrived earlier than estimated), so very happy with that :-). Had nearly 3 weeks now to get through the 'playing around' stage'. First, installation was a breeze once I worked out where to mount it (I just used the supplied velcro strips and mounted it on steering column, just behind the wheel - clear view and doesn't block out the dash gauges. After following the initial setup process, it was up and running.Have had a look through most of the settings, and added a few X-gauges, some with success, a couple not so much - possibly a limitation of what the car (BT-50) makes available. So, overall very happy - it fires up when the engine starts running, and shuts down when I stop. And all the data is at my fingertips. The data/settings, etc, can be a bit fiddly with the buttons, but once you are familiar with it, not really a problem. Haven't had the engine light come up, so haven't been able check out the code reporting and clearing, but I know it is there if I need it. Overall, very happy the unit and the service. Thank you.

Best feature of the gauge is the programmable display functions that other gauges do not have. The ones I set up are auto transmission temp, converter temp and % of time to do a DPF burn. Fairly easy to do and great when towing to keep an eye on your converter temp.
