Diesel Particular Filter (DPF) scan tools help perform forced DPF regeneration service and clear DPF warning light. This service is required to clear PM (Particulate Matter) from the trap in combustion oxidation mode (such as high temperature heating combustion, fuel additive or catalyst reduce PM fire point combustion) to stabilise trap performance.

Depending on the vehicle and make, owner's manual and manufacturers' service must be met before you are able to perform the DPF regeneration. These can include:
